=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
No one knew what was waiting for them when they were to arrive in the new world. Savages, dangerous animals, disease, no one knew. They would soon find out as they approached and got closer there. Alfred made his way to the deck and looked out at the forests that stood before them. "Wow," he breathed out as he turned back to his crew, "Alright! Let's get a crew started and get ready for shore," he called out to them and made his way to the Governor's, Arthur Kirkland, Cabin.
He knocked and made his way in. "We're just deep enough to pull ashore sir," he said standing there at attention to his boss for the time being.
"Very well give the order," Arthur said turning back to disciplining his man servant, Peter.
"Already done sir," he said feeling his usual goofy grin appearing on his face, "I have a crew ready to go."
"Good," he said, "Oh and Jone's, about the savages, don't let those filthy heathens disrupt our mission."
"Aye Aye sir," he said with a salute and made his way out and towards the crew.
~Meanwhile in the Forest~
_____ was standing atop of a waterfall, staring out looking at the horizon, where the water met the sky. It was beautiful. Gently, she closed her [eye color] eyes and took in a deep breath as the wind came and blew around her. She could hear some voices of the wind spirits as they swirled around her. She could tell her father was almost home, so she opened her eyes and looked down. There was her friend, more over sister, [friends name], down there waving at her to come down. Her smile grew into one that could rival a playful otters. She waved back and without a word went to run down the ledge, but rather than that, she turned back and grinned bigger. She ran back at it full speed and dove off and landed in the water below. [Friends name] looked around her in the water frantically. "_____," she said looking deeper and leaning over the edge, "_-_____, come on, this isn't funny."
At that _______ popped up, grabbing [fn] and pulling her in with her while flipping the canoe. [FN] came up underneath coughing and gasping for air, while _____ came up laughing at her friend. "______ that was not funny!!" [FN] said splashing _______ in the face, "Now let's go, your father should be back soon."
________ only laughed, "Alright. I'm sorry."
They flipped the canoe back over and got back in, and on their way back to their tribe.

~Time skip brought to you by Flit(If you know who this is you get mega props)~

_____ and [FN} arrived a little while after the warriors. Her father spotted her in the crowd while he was praising Kokoum for his bravery and strength in battle. "Oh man he is so handsome," [FN] whispered to _____ as they stood there watching.
"Especially with his smile," she giggled out.
"Tonight! We feast in his honor!!" he called out to the tribe, earning whoops and hollers from all.
He soon stepped down and approached ______, "Ahhh my daughter."
"Wingapo, father," she said giving him a hug and smiling, causing him to smile.
"Come, I want to know all that you've been doing since I was gone," he said leading her towards the teepee.
~Time skip a little bit~
"You want me to marry Kokoum?!" you exclaimed at your father, "But father!! My dream!!"
"No buts ______!" he said getting angry at my distaste in his choice for my husband, "He is a fine warrior and good man. You'd be lucky to have him."
"But he's so serious," you protested once more, he didn't know what was good for you.
"You will marry Kokoum," he shouted, startling you, "This is not about you and you wanting to be free! This is about the tribe and keeping it in order."
He saw your discomfort and sadness. "_____, come with me. You are the daughter of the chief. It is time to take your place among our people. Even the wild mountain stream must someday join the big river," he said as he gave you a necklace.
It had been your mother's and he wanted you to wear it, "Your mother wore this when we married. I know she would have wanted you to wear it as well."
You broke away from him without a word. You needed to get away and think, so you took off and got into a canoe and made your way down the river and towards your thinking spot, Grandmother Willow.

~Time skip brought to you by Meeko(If you know who this is congrats! You have watched the movie)~

As you approached Grandmother Willow, you saw her awaken and smile down at you. "Is that my little ______?" she called to you as you climbed up to your usual spot sitting on the stump.
"Grandmother Willow, I need to talk to you," you said in distress.
"Good morning, child. I was hoping you'd visit today. Why, your mother's necklace!" she said cheerfully.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about," you said looking up at her and then moving your hands to fiddle with the necklace now around your neck, "My father wants me to marry Kocoum."
At that you looked up and saw her looking at you with a shocked face. "Kocuom? But he's so serious," she said still confused.
"I know. My father thinks it's the right path for me," you started but paused, "But lately I've been having this dream and I think it's-"
At that point she cut you off. "Oh a dream!" she said getting ready to listen and explain it, "Let's hear all about it!"
At that point all the animals near you and her started to make a lot of noise and wouldn't stop. "Quiet! Quiet!" she yelled out causing you to cover your ears and making all of the animals to stop, besides on noisy frog, whom earned a dirty look from Grandmother Willow, "Now, child, you were saying."
"Well, I'm running through the woods and then right there in front of me is an arrow," you said recalling your dream, "As I look at it, it starts to spin."
"A spinning arrow? How unusual," Grandmother Willow said bluntly.
"Yes! It spins faster and faster and faster," you said moving your hand in a circular motion to show her what you meant, "until suddenly, it stops."
"Hmmm," she said thinking for a moment, moving a strand of her leaves up to her mouth, "Well, seems to me this spinning arrow is pointing you down your path."
"But Grandmother Willow, What is my path?" you asked desperately, "How am I ever going to find it?"
Grandmother Willow just chuckled at you. "Your mother asked me the very same question," she said looking at you.
"She did?" you asked eagerly, "What did you tell her?"
"I told her to listen," she said and then moving the branches around and motioning around you, "All around you are spirits, child. They live in the earth, the water, the sky. If you listen, they will guide you."
At that you closed your eyes to listen and you felt the wind blow around you. "Ay ay ay na ay ay na," you heard whispered in your ears as the wind blew.
"I hear the wind," you said still keeping your eyes closed but concentrating on what it was saying.
"Yes, what is it telling you?" she asked you.
"I don't understand," you said furrowing your brow.
Then Grandmother Willow began to sing,
"Que que na-to-ra
You will understand
Listen with your heart
You will understand
Let it break upon you
Like a wave upon the sand "

"It's saying something's coming," you said closing your eyes tighter, "Something strange."
That's when you opened your eyes quickly and began to climb up Grandmother Willow. You climbed higher and higher as she sang, "Listen with your heart, you will understand."

"You will understand," you heard the Wind Spirits whisper to you as you reached the top and looked out.
"What do you see?" Grandmother Willow called up to you.
"Clouds," you said furrowing your brow in confusion while looking out at the weird shaped clouds, "Strange clouds."

~Meanwhile/Timeskip~

Alfred walked onto the deck and noticed the crew all gazing at the untouched forests and land. "It's so incredible," an Irish accented man by Shamus said staring at it all. "And it's all ours!"
A smaller man said with blond hair that matched Alfred's and violet eyes, Matthew, "I've never seen anything like it."
"It could look like Arthur's knickers for all I care," a Scottish man stated with a cigarette in his mouth, Alastair, "Just as long as I can get off this damn boat."
"Come on men," Alfred said with a chuckle, "We didn't come all this way just to look at it."
As they were making their way to shore, _____ was making her way towards it as well to catch a glimpse at the new comers. She hid in the bushes and stalked them quietly. She watched them carefully as her forest friends Meeko, the raccoon, and Flit, the hummingbird, came over to her and were wondering what she was doing. As they noticed the new comers they too joined in watching what was happening around them. "Keep it taught!" Alastair called out, "Keep it taught!!"
The men were pulling their boat up towards the shore more. "Ah, that's far enough!" he called out to them, "All right now, tie her off."
Matthew looked over his shoulder to pass the rope to him to have him tie it off. "Here Alfred, tie this off," he said noticing he was gone off to look around at their surroundings, "Alfred? What are you doing up there?"
Somehow in the little time they were on shore he had made his way up a cliff already and was looking around. "Getting a better look," Alfred called to them as he bumped into an eager Meeko who tumbled out of the bush he was in front of, "Hey!" At that he picked up Meeko and began to examine him.
"Well your pretty strange looking," he said as the raccoon squirmed from his grasp and towards Alfred's bag full of hard tack, "You hungry? Here's a biscuit."
At that he reached in and pulled out one. "It's food, kinda," he made a disgusted face as Meeko  ate some of it and then showed it towards ______, "You like it huh? What? Do you have a friend back there?"
At that he moved over towards the bush and poor ______ was cornered between him and the rock behind her. Luckliy Flit attacked him and got him away from her. "Hey! Watch out!" he called out swatting at the hummingbird who moved to fast for him to actually hit.

"Alfred!!" Matthew called out to him, "You better get down here! The Governor is coming ashore!"
"Alright, Alright," he said making his way to leave, "I'm leaving."
At that he made his way down the hill and towards the shore while ______ ran back to her tribe to explain what she had just saw.

~Time skip by Flit once more~

_____ arrived at camp only to be greeted by her father being in counsel. On the inside her father was in counsel with all the elders and the rest of the tribe. _______ slipped her way in and saw the medicine man working his magic on the fire to get an apparition. One of the village men said, "Did you see their skin? It was pale and sickly."
"They had hair on their faces like dogs," another man said with disgust.
Her father soon spoke though, "My brothers, We must know more about these visitors. Kekata, what do you see?"
Kekata stopped chanting over the flames and looked deep into the flames. "These men are not like us, but like strange beasts with bodies that shine like the sun, and weapons that spout fire," as he said these words the fire's smoke showed the tribe the beast like creatures and their weapons causing people to flinch and cower, "They prowl the earth like ravenous wolves consuming everything in their path."
At that there was a wolf that moved over a woman and her child and the dispersed as it touched them. "Great Chief," Kocoum stated standing up proudly, "I will lead our warriors to the river and attack. We will destroy these invaders like we did with the Massawomecks."
This caused a few cheers from the tribe and he nodded and looked to _____ for approval. She just scoffed and looked away in disgust. "Kocoum, in that battle we knew how to fight our enemy, but these pale visitors are strange to us. Take some men to the river to observe them," ______'s father said, "Let us hope they do not intend to stay."
At that the council was broken and everyone was let out. ______ soon left the village once more and went to find the strange blond man from earlier. He was interesting and not like her.

~Meanwhile~

"I claim this land in the name of King James of England," Arthur said planting the flag in the sands, "And do so forth name this Jamestown."
The men cheered for the Governor as
Alfred was about to leave for some exploration of the land before him. "Captain Jones!" Arthur called him over so he obliged, "I picked a perfect spot, eh? Not a savage in sight."
"Just because we can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there sir," he said looking at the woods.
"Well, just in case you should venture forth and find them," Arthur said as fear was present in his green eyes, "hmmm?"
"If there are any Indians out there," he said adjusting his gun and making his way to the woods, "I'll find them."
At that he was gone and into the woods to look around. He climbed ledges and walked through the thick trees. He was fascinated with it all and didn't even notice ______ was following him. They made it all the way to a waterfall nearby till he realized she was there, when he looked into his helmet when taking it off to wash his face and get a drink. She moved her way closer but not too close as he made his way across some rock and into a cavern where he lit his musket and was prepared to shoot her. She moved her way across the rocks and paused when he jumped out and pointed the gun at her. He soon realized she was a woman and lowered it and put out the wick. He moved close to her, but _______ was scared and ran, he was soon following her quickly and caught her boat as she was trying to leave. "No, wait! Please! Please! Don't run off. It's all right, I'm not gonna hurt you. Here, let me help you out of there," he said extending his hand out to her and hoping she would take it.
"Mat- ta- que na- to- rath," she said with a questioning look and furrowed brow.
"You don't understand a word I'm saying," he said rubbing the back of his neck, "It's all right."
That's when the wind blew and she closed her eyes listening to the Wind Spirit. "Ay ay ay na ay ay na" It sang to her and then she heard Grandmother Willow.
"Listen with your heart, You will understand, Let it break upon you, Like a wave upon the sand" she sang on the wind to ______.
"Who are you?" Alfred said with a questioning look.
"Listen with your heart, you will understand," she heard Grandmother Willow again.
"________," she said after listening to the wind for a little bit.
"W-what?" he said not believing she spoke English, "What did you say?"
"My name is _________," she said standing up and stepping out of the boat and up to him.

"I'm Alfred Jones," he said looking at her.

~Meanwhile in Jamestown~

"That's it, Keep at it men," Arthur called out to the men who were digging holes in the earth, "Keep digging. It's got to be here somewhere."
All the while the Englishmen were digging; they were being watched by a few warriors of ______'s tribe. Namontack approached another quietly. "There are thirty more or them," he said motioning to where they were, "down the ridge."
"That makes more than a hundred," Kocoum said shocked.
"Anything yet?" Arthur called out to the men digging while eating a piece of chicken.
"Nothing but rocks and dirt sir," Matthew called out to him.
"How much longer are we gonna be digging like this sir?" Shamus called out. "Aye, We're busting our backs, day and night-" Alastair started to say but was cut off by Arthur.
"For king and country, I know, I know," he said now showing distaste in the meat in his hand, "I share your fatigue. PETER! PETER!!"
Along came little Peter standing next to him. "Yes sir?" he said.
"Dispose of this," he said tossing it, not caring whether or not the boy caught it.
Peter walked over to the dog that Arthur had brought with him and gave it to him to eat. At that moment one of the natives moved wrong and Arthur caught a glimpse. "Savages!!" he called out rushing towards the guns, "It's an ambush, arm yourselves!"
At that he was tossing guns to the men so they could shoot at the so called savages. "Arm yourselves!!" Arthur yelled fearing the people who they could barely see, "Everyone must have a musket and shoot!"
The shoot was more directed at Matthew who was nervous due to never handling a gun before. "Blast it all! Where is Jones when I need him?" Arthur yelled causing Matthew to trip and accidentally fire, almost hitting Arthur, "Them you idiot! Not us!"
There was little time before a few arrows were fired after a few rounds of gunfire. Namontack took a hit to the leg causing him great pain and to fall over. "Namontack!" Kocuom exclaimed running to him and picking him up to carry him, "Back to the village!"
At that the Natives retreated and the settlers cheered. "Shut up! They'll be back! Everyone back to the fort and unload the cannons from the ship," Arthur said angry and flustered walking back to the fort, "Finish building this bloody fort!"
"Aye, governor," Shamus said following him after grabbing a few shovels.
"And you!" Arthur said turning his anger to a cowering Matthew who was still on the ground where he tripped, "Learn to use that thing properly! A man's not a man unless he knows how to shoot."

~Time skip brought to you by Percy the spoiled Dog~

Kekata was chanting over Namontack's injured leg and kept shaking his rattle over it to see if he could heal it. "These beasts invade our shores," the chief said angered by the actions that took place, "and now this."
Kekata kept chanting but soon stopped. "This wound is strange to me," he said shaking his head.
_______'s father grew angrier. "We will fight this enemy, but we cannot do it alone. Kocoum," at that he turned to Kocuom and held his serious tone, "send messengers to every village in our nation. We will call on our brothers to help us fight."
After he informed Kocuom he stepped out of the tent and was greeted by all of the villagers. He sighed and then looked up and out to all the frightened and scared people. "These White Men are dangerous! No one is to go near them." He then turned away and looked around for _______.

~meanwhile(I know there are a lot of these, but watch the movie, you'll understand it better~

"It's called a helmet," Afred said watching ______ handle his helmet, examining it every way since she had never seen one before.
"Helmet," she said making a face in the reflection of it.
"So what river is this?" he asked motioning to the one right behind them. "Quiyoughcohannock," she said simply to him.
"You guys have the strangest names here, "Alfred said laughing at the name, "Chicahominy. Quiyough- Quiyoughcohannock. __________"
"You have most unusual names too, Alfred Jones," she said matter of factly to him.
Alfred felt something rummaging in his bag. "Hey!" he said pulling out Meeko, "Is this bottomless pit a friend of yours?"
"Meeko!" She exclaimed taking him from her and holding him.
"Well how do you do?" Alfred said holding out his hand and laughing as Meeko looked for a biscuit in it, "It's alright, it's just a handshake."
At that he moved his hand to ______. "Here let me show you," he said waiting for her to extend her hand to his.
"Nothing's happening," she said looking from it to his face.
"No, no," he said laughing, "First I need your hand."
At that she put her hand in his and he moved it up and down slowly. "This is how we say hello."
"This is how we say hello," she said taking her hand after being confused by his, she put her hand up and moved it left to right, "Wingapo."
Alfred mimicked her movement, "Wingapo."
"And how we say goodbye," she said reversing the motions, "Ana."
He put his hand up to hers and moved his face a little closer to hers, causing a small pink blush to creep onto her cheeks. "I like hello better," right as he was going to close the space between them, Flit came in-between them, "Yeah, I remember you."
______ just laughed and held Flit in her hands. "Flit just doesn't like strangers," she said looking at the hummingbird and she pet his head.
"But I'm not a stranger anymore," he said reaching to pet Flit as well, only to receive an atypical response of tongue sticking out and angered reaction, "Stubborn little fellow, isn't he?"
"Very stubborn," she said with a chuckle.
At that moment Meeko was rummaging in Alfred's bag, pulling out things, but taking special liking to the compass. "Hey!" Alfred said as Meeko took off with it to a nearby rock.
"Meeko! Come back here!" She called after him standing up and letting go of Flit.
"Don't worry; He can't hurt it," as soon as Alfred said that Meeko began to hit it against a rock, "Hey! What are you doing?!"
As soon as he called after him, he took off to where most of his treasures were stored. "Meeko! Bring that back!" she called out after him and was debating on chasing him up the tree.
"No, no," he said walking away and then looking back up to the raccoon, "He can keep it. Call it a gift!"
The last part was meant for the raccoon to hear. "What was that?" _____ asked Alfred with a questioning look.
"My compass," he said.
"Compass?" she asked once more.
"It tells you how to find your way when you get lost," he said grabbing one of Grandmother Willow's branches, "But it's alright, I'll get another in London."
"London?" she asked more and more wanting to know all about these things he spoke of, "Is that your village?"
"Yes it's a very big village," he said swinging around on the branch.
"What's it like," ______ asked standing a few feet away from him so she wouldn't get hit.
"Well," he said stopping moving for a moment, but still hung by his arms, "it's got streets filled with carriages and bridges over the rivers and buildings as tall as trees."
He sounded like a kid in a candy shop talking about this stuff, which only made ______ want to see it more. "I'd like to see those things," she said trying to imagine what they would look like.
"You will," Alfred said dropping off of the branch and walking over to her, causing her to break her day dream.
"How?" she asked wanting to know.
"We're going to build them here. We'll show your people how to use this land properly," he said grabbing her shoulders, "How to make the most of it."
"Make the most of it," she said with some bitterness coming out with it. "Yes! We'll build roads and decent houses," he started to say only to be cut off by her angered outburst.
"Our houses are fine," she said backing out of his arms reach.
"You only think that because you don't know any better," he said and _____ had enough and began to storm away, "Wait a minute, don't take it that-"
At that Flit attacked him once more. "Hey, hey, wait! Wait, wait!" At that he was in the water and trying to stop her from leaving in the canoe once more, "There's so much we can teach you.  We've improved the lives of savages all over the world."
"Savages?!" she yelled at him with anger clear in her facial expressions.
"Uh," he said trying to make amends, "Not that you're a savage."
"Just my people," ______ said trying to leave again by paddling the canoe.
"No, listen," Alfred said trying to have her stop from leaving once more, "That's not what I meant. Let me explain-"
"Let go!" she yelled trying to paddle away once more.
"No, I'm not letting you leave. Look, don't do this. 'Savage' is just a word. You know. A term for," he tried to think of the words for it, "people who are uncivilized."
"Like me," she said figuring out what he was insinuating.
"Well, when you say uncivilized," Alfred tried to explain again, it was turning into big mix up, "what I mean is, is-"
"What you mean is not like you," she said standing up and moving out of the boat and getting in his face, "You think I'm an ignorant savage, And you've been so many places, I guess it must be so, But still I cannot see, If the savage one is me, How can there be so much that you don't know? You don't know ..." At that they were moving through the woods, she was singing along to the sounds of the spirits and the sounds that the world around them made. It made sense to her, if not to him. Then he would have to learn. Alfred followed her to a cliff like place where they found a stick and she picked it up, mimicking Arthur Kirkland. "You think you own whatever land you land on, The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim, But I know every rock and tree and creature, Has a life, has a spirit, has a name"  she sang so beautifully as she motioned to each thing and everything she touched seemed to glow with an aura around it. Alfred noticed it for the first time and gasped at the shock. It was all living and she was trying to show him how to understand. They soon moved on and there was a bear sitting on top of a rock that Alfred saw and raised his gun to. "You think the only people who are people, Are the people who look and think like you, But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, You'll learn things you never knew you never knew"  He looked up as she said that and watched the mother bear go to her cub. It was heart touching and made him notice not to judge the things happening around them.
"Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"

He soon just began to follow her and watch all the things she did. It was beautiful and he watched as she and himself matched the earth and meshed together, coexisting with everything and noticing all the beautiful things around him.

"Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth"

They were running through the forests with the deer and rolling in the fields as they jumped over a hill. It was glorious and he was realizing the difference between living and actually living.

"The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends

How high will the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know
And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon

For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind

You can own the Earth and still
All you'll own is Earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind"

Alfred stood there with her at the base of Grandmother Willow now realizing what she meant. "I never knew," he said smiling at her.
_______ was soon distracted by the distant sound of drums. "What is it?" Alfred asked her still holding her hands in his.
"The drums," she said looking from the sound to him, "They mean trouble. I shouldn't be here."
At that she took her hands away and went to go away when his hand on her shoulder stopped her. "I want to see you again," he said not wanting to lose her.
He was falling in love with her. She was everything he wanted in a girl and she helped him understand that life wasn't all about material things, it was more than that. "I can't," she said looking away from him, her heart was breaking, maybe this was what her dream meant.
"Please, don't leave," he said with a pleading look and desperation in his eyes.
"I'm sorry, I have to go," she said getting into the canoe and leaving.
Giving him one more look, she felt some tears building up in her eyes. Alfred stood there on the river bank; he didn't want to lose her forever. He would find her again, but for now he had to get back to the fort.
